Shoot to Thrill
- All-female tribute to AC/DC -
Shoot To Thrill includes Kara (vocals), Susan (guitar), Emily (bass), Wendy (guitar) and Kate (drums). Not only are the girls professional musicians with impeccable skills, they are also quite easy on the eyes and full of energy for an entertaining stage show!
The girls decided on AC/DC in particular, because the band's songs are a marriage of compelling music and creative story-telling. The guitar work is intricate yet not overplayed, while the rhythms are driving and dynamic. The silence is as important as the noise, and the lyrics are relatable and captivating. You just HAVE to sing along....or air-guitar….or BOTH!
The girls decided to do a full tribute rather than a cover band, because a tribute is much more challenging. You play many songs by the same artist and really reach inside that artist copying not only their playing style but also their signature stage moves. It's really quite an art and very rewarding when you make it all come together.
Shoot To Thrill is based out of Raleigh, NC and tours all along the East Coast. The girls look forward to meeting you and rocking you into an unbelievable frenzy of good times!

Kara - Vocals
Kara’s journey into music began the very moment she made her first sound. With a deep love for music that transcended words, she learned to sing by mirroring her father’s voice, drawing inspiration from his sound while growing into her own unique vocal style. Though largely self-taught, she refined her talent throughout grade school, developing a solid foundation in vocal technique by ear.
The early years were profoundly influenced by the sounds of Motown and R&B legends. Artists like Smokey Robinson and The Temptations provided the soundtrack to her childhood, allowing her to hone a smooth yet powerful delivery.
As she grew older, her musical tastes evolved. The explosion of grunge, alternative, and classic rock in the ’90s ushered in a new phase of vocal exploration. Bands like Rush and STP became integral parts of her musical journey, and she absorbed the gritty intensity and powerful dynamics of these groups, blending them seamlessly with her earlier influences.
In early adulthood, she took the next step in her musical career by joining a local band that played a diverse range of popular music. This experience helped broaden her vocal versatility, allowing her to adapt to various styles and genres with ease, while also sharpening her stage presence.
A pivotal moment came when she relocated from NH to NC, where she found her true voice as a rock singer. She became a key member of Shoot to Thrill in 2017 and discovered a unique space to channel her love for hard rock while paying tribute to one of the most iconic bands of all time.
Throughout her career, she has always seen music as a way to bring joy and provide an escape from life’s daily troubles.
Whether she is belting out a soulful Motown ballad or rocking out to a grunge anthem, her goal is always the same: to connect with audiences and create a space where fans can lose themselves in the music.
